Creek Dreams
I will forever remain hopeful because... 5 year old me is just about to get lost in her bedroom with her Breyer Model Horses and learn to dream loudly while sitting quietly and staying out of the way. She doesn't realize the power she possesses inside of herself, and she won't realize it until she buys her very first living breathing horse. And as with any dream, hard work and sacrifice comes along with it - a goal and lots of little moments, important moments, that start to build the very person that you are.
What are your little moments? What is your dream?
At the very instant of this picture, my 5 year old self and I will have foaled 100 babies, raised them and raced them, and did our best to rehome as many as possible. (I wish for all standardbreds to be loved as much as the two I hold in this picture.) Right now, my family and I aren't rich in anything except freedom and joy. I have always known that life was never about money and I stopped sacrificing for someone else's dream. I won't lie. It will always be a mental struggle to have confidence as an artist, but 5 year old me, untouched and bravely facing the day, says, "I knew you could do it." No one is as brave as that innocent child that God created, before the world batters them and steals from them and changes them. God places dreams inside us all, to remember and hold when life is too much. Creek Dreams is something I felt called to do to honor that God given freedom inside me, and access that Spirit that knows inherently what to do.
What are your struggles? What dream did God give you to help you move through this life?
No matter what season you are in, give it to God so He can bless you -- and always, always, always (photographer or not), chase the light. Never give up!
